According to the World Bank, an estimated 9.2% of the world or 689 million people, live in extreme poverty on less than $1.90 a day. These numbers are calculated on income and a person’s ability to meet basic needs. Living in poverty means a life of struggle and deprivation. Children living in poverty often lack access to quality education because impoverished families either can’t afford school fees or need their kids to work. Without a quality education, children grow up being unable to provide for their own children and have very little hope for the future. We aren’t intimidated by the challenges of poverty and strive to be a catalyst for change and to make a lasting impact everywhere we go.
